Welcome to the USS Hecate!

Praxis changed everything
With the signing of the Khitomer Accords, the United Federation of Planets and her greatest adversary, the Klingon Empire, found themselves in an uneasy peace.
In the two years since the signing of the Accords the Federation Council has tasked Starfleet Command with revamping the Beta Quadrant Exploration program. The USS Hecate, one of the first Excelsior Refit vessels in the fleet will embark on a five year exploration mission beyond the Klingon and Romulan Empires. Penetrating the furthest reaches of the Beta Quadrant, her name is destined to be drawn in the same breath as Excelsior, Enterprise and other storied ships of Starfleet’s history.
Take a look around. If you like what you see, fill out an application form. Should you not see a position you want on the manifest, please contact us.
On behalf of the staff and crew of the USS Hecate, welcome! Join us and discover the Federation’s Golden Age!

Crew!
The Hecate is slowly coming out of her hibernation.
With work now calming down, I'll slowly be getting to grips with moving the Hecate along this week.
The aim is to get Shakedown finished before the end of the year so we can begin 2025 by getting our exploratory voyage well under way.
Please keep an eye out for tags and updates!

Crew!
It's a little early here, but I wanted to wish you all a Happy New Year.
I'd also like to thank you on making 2023 a very successful year for the Hecate.
This sim is an idea I'd been working on for a while before committing it to paper so to speak, and I'm gratified and humbled that you'd all contribute your considerable talents to getting her off the ground.
Here's to 2024 and another successful year for the Hecate!

Crew!
My sincere thanks on a job well-done in September.
You hard work earned the Hecate the Silver Unit of Distinction for the month.
Our XO, Khiane Mau, written by StarGeek, earned the Writer of the Month award.
The Hecate also earned an Award of Merit for September for 23-C.
In the quarterly awards we also earned CO of the Quarter too - an award reflective of the good work of the crew!
Here's to many more in the coming years!

Listening to the interaction between the senior officers, Sa-Kuiri marvelled at how Starfleet contained such different multitudes, contrasting personalities that came together to make it the successful organisation it was. Friction between them seemed to create the right kind of spark for success. He vowed to keep that in mind if he ever rose through the ranks. He sent a tap across the com channels to acknowledge their cautions.
Vangra descended the ramp slowly, allowing both Doctor Nelar and Lieutenant Dari to pass her. She fell into step two paces behind them, bringing up…

[Main Engineering]
The heartbeat of the ship was eerily silent. Eloth stared up at the vertical warp core and frowned, arms folded. The twisted luminance of the energy nexus within was the only source of light on deck, save the emergency torches that were now balanced precariously on consoles scattered around the space.
Urgent conversations susurrated across the space, some of Starfleet's finest Engineers bending their heads together to get to the source of the problem. Exhaling in disgust, Eloth cursed under his breath, 'I told them not to break anything ...' An old hand,…

Burke leaned against the bulkhead next to the airlock. It was fairly early, ship-time, but he was out of uniform. Dressed comfortably in a dark cable-knit sweater and a pair of jeans and comfortable walking shoes, he waited patiently for his charge to arrive. By his feet, a classic Earth picnic basket. He found himself wondering how he had begun to invest so much in a person he had known such a short space of time.
By all accounts this was uncharacteristic of him. He had thrived for years in being unattached and independent, being able to choose whatever…

[Deck 11]
Six decks below them and tucked away between the Shuttle Bay and the Deuterium Storage Tanks, was Clemmie Vidamour and her team. Faces were taut with barely-concealed frustration and even Clemmie found herself pushing her jaw forward the same way she used to as a child--usually when one of the other girls at school had said something unkind to her.
The replacement power node had been troublesome since 0500 hours. Every time they thought they had it settled, some tiny fluctuation appeared somewhere else along the network. They had chased the problem back…

"Whether you frame it as logic, exploration, or science, Humans have yet to reign in their reckless spirit at times when caution is best warranted. They are a young species. You are a young species. They have much to learn," she added. "I just hope this mission sees everyone back alive."
Vincent let out a sigh as he removed his hand from her shoulder. He looked down for a moment, as in deep thought, before looking back up to her. His face now serious as a firm tone followed. "Doctor, I know all about…
